Social Media..love it or hate it, it's here to say. Facebook alone has 500 Million active users on it. One in four people who use the internet are on Facebook. Twitter has 100 million active users. The presence of this medium is pervasive. In our homes, schools, in traffic and of course in the workplace. The question is...fight it, stonewall it or figure out how to capitalize on it?

My position as the Practice lead for our Organizational Effectiveness Practice is one of utilizing Social Media for the good of our organizations. I mean the use of it to source new ideas, network with a fast paced world, allow our employees to reach out to colleagues and yes, friends. Drive an image of our organizations as fast paced, modern places to work and grow.

Develop the appropriate policies for your business, position social media as an enabler. Bring your employees into the issues and have them help you craft solutions to optimize the use of his incredible engine. Our belief is treating employees as adults and partners will far outweigh any positive impact of using parental controls thinking.

Our Organizational Effectiveness Practice can help you determine your optimal path, engage your employees, create the optimal level of polices and get on with enabling your business in this new and growing playing field. Please see the attached video stream with Jeff Quade, participating in a Door 64 Panel Discussion on " Legal and Ethical issues of Social Media in Talent Management."

As always, we'd love to know what you think.
